The recent Ontario Camps Association (OCA) Annual Conference, co-chaired by Robin Hood's Director/Owner Sari Grossinger, was once again a valuable educational opportunity for our team of Directors and Supervisors. Camp Robin Hood's involvement in the OCA is extensive as many CRH staff volunteer their time to our association. Currently, our Director/Owner Howie Grossinger is the Vice-President of the OCA.
We had the opportunity to attend some informative and interactive workshops as well as listen to some terrifc presenter's who are in tune with the realities of parenting and raising children in today's world.
Dr. Wendy Mogel and Jennifer Kolari, both presenters at the OCA Conference, have each authored books we feel should be added to every parents library. "A Blessing of a Skinned Knee" and "Connected Parenting" offer insightful and practical approaches for today's parent. They also offer us as camp professionals, important information and training approaches we can pass on to our staff who work directly with your children.
Our team is currently compiling all of our notes and are very excited to put all of the resources gathered at the OCA Conference into action at camp this summer. |
