SENIOR BOYS No matter the weather, sunshine was always shining on the Senior Boys. There was even a hint of a rainbow surfacing during Colour Wars. Senior Options was a hit again. There was a big demand in Campcraft to make Banana Boats....yum. We are looking forward to an awesome special day and overnight. See you then.

CAMPCRAFT Camp Craft has been having a fantastic week. The campers have been making spider dogs, a classic camp favorite. In Senior Options, the campers even started a fire with a magnifying glass! Campers are also learning survival and camp skills this week.
CANOE The Canoe Challenge Cup kicked off this week, with units competing against each other to capture the Golden Paddle. Thanks to their hard work, the Munchies, Jousters and Inter Boys lead their divisions, but with one week remaining, it's still anybody's game. Good luck!

GOA GOA finished off the third week of camp with a wide selection of new bike jumps and plenty of happy silo-climbing campers on Family Night. Space week starts on Monday - you ain't seen nothin' yet!
GYMNASTICS Campers snuck by security guards, found the keys to Officer Bob's diary revealing his deepest secrets, and climbed through a security laser case during SPY WEEK!!! Using their skills taught throughout the past weeks the campers completed their spy mission of the year!
KARATE All the campers coming to karate have been enthusiastic, full of energy and eager to learn. It was really nice to see so many familiar faces from last year but also to meet new campers and their counsellors. We know session two is going to be awesome. We are planning lots of different demonstrations and activities for each cabin and are looking forward to the next couple of weeks.
LANDSPORTS Bringin' back the 80s?! Whhattt?! Decked out in spandex and neon that's what was going on at Landsports this week. We taught an Aerobics routine to help the campers have fun while getting exercise.
MUSIC & DRAMA This week at the Haunted M & D Castle, we helped our strange friends Dracula, Frankenstein, and The Phantom find the things they were missing. We summoned the Witch to help us. Looking forward to next week - get ready to meet the world!
NATURE Nature is all about choice. This week campers have been planting an herb garden as well as making apple sauce! We have some new additions to Nature, including bunnies and a bird! Stop in at Nature and learn about and feed all of the animals.

Robin Hood Sports Academy
This week at Sports Academy our players spent time learning new skills and practicing to get ready for Friday's Gameday. Our Baseball players had a great time competing for the Gold Glove while our All Sports players developed their skills in Ultimate Frisbee and Volleyball and participated in our ever-popular Gladiator event. We were all shocked by the outcome of today's Dive-Off! Great job to all of our players for a solid effort put forth to earn TTE (Total Team Effort) points throughout the week - the competition is heating up!

Robin Aid

Questions and Answers
Boy it sure has been hot outside these past few weeks. Robin
Aid hopes you are putting your sunscreen on everyday before you leave home and
we want to remind you how important it is to reapply your sunscreen after every
swim and after lunch. Q: WHY IS A HAT SO IMPORTANT IN THE SUN?
A: Because skin damage when you are young can lead to
problems when you are older. Don't
forget to wear a broad-brimmed style hat to protect your face, ears and back of
your neck. Plus, too much sun makes wrinkles on your face! YUCK!

Colour Wars
Camp Robin Hood was once again at the centre of the universe, as Michael Goldenstein, owner of Hollywood, helicoptered his way onto the Camp Robin Hood site, and transformed our camp into "Hollyhood: Colour Wars 2010". These were undeniably two of the greatest days ever at camp! We saw spirit from EVERY CAMPER AND COUNSELLOR representing Warner Bros. Studios (Yellow), Universal Studios (Green), Twentieth Century Fox (Red) and Walt Disney Pictures (Blue) as they took part in exciting events, ranging from camp-wide mass events to competitions within the unit - we even had parents take part in the action on Wednesday night at Family Night, representing their children's teams in a spirited "Musical Chairs" competition. In the end, Michael Goldenstein was thrilled with all four studios and how many tickets they sold, but decided his next movie would be awarded to Walt Disney Pictures for earning the most tickets! Congratulations and thank you to all staff for putting on this incredible event - and to our campers who enjoyed every minute of it! Check out the many movie trailers and other exciting videos on our YouTube channel!!! |
