A day at Robin Hood is absolutely awesome

It all starts with the careful attention we pay to creating great cabin groups, assigning enthusiastic and well-trained staff and providing a balanced daily experience that combines amazing specialty activities and meaningful cabin-focused programs. Our counsellors really get to know our campers and have the flexibility to customize parts of each day to meet the interests and needs of each group.

But picking your children’s day camp is a big and important decision. We get that. So we asked some of our parents and campers what they thought … take a look.

We Care for Every Child as if They Were Our Own

Camp Robin Hood is a family. And that is how we treat every camper: like one of our own. We care. A lot. From the attentiveness of our office staff, to the follow up of our Section Heads, our families know that any concern will be dealt with personally and professionally. Perhaps most comforting to our families is the access that they have to our camp owners/directors Sari & Howie. This leave our parents feeling comfortable and secure.

We help kids learn through outdoor play

Our beautiful outdoor spaces allow campers of all ages a balance of supervised free-play and structured skill development. This unique country setting gives campers a sense of being away from their everyday routine and helps them to develop a keen sense of independence. Whether it is canoeing together on our pond, playing soccer with another cabin, planting vegetables in our garden or our twice-daily instructional swim, our campers are learning important life skills such as teamwork, perseverance and how to make and keep friends.

Camp Robin Hood gave my daughter a safe place to come out of her shell and the confidence to be herself. It is the nurturing, caring, and attentiveness offered to all campers at CRH that kept us coming back.

Camp Robin Hood is hands down the best camp that you will find in the GTA!  The staff are outstanding and it is a true camp experience in a country setting. It is a place where kids can be kids and everyone can be themselves. I see the Camp Robin Hood experience as one of the greatest gifts that I can give my children.

We celebrate and accept each and every child

At Camp Robin Hood every child is celebrated. We love that no two campers are alike, that each child has their own special set of strengths and challenges. In turn, our staff have the tools, training, and commitment to give every camper the most memorable summer ever. Everyone is welcomed into a balanced cabin group to ensure no one is left out. And if your child has special needs, know that we are here to ensure their camp experience is truly magical. Consistent communication, incredible staff, the best on-site health professionals and perfectly-planned programs make us confident you’ll discover a camp that makes all aspects of your family’s experience fantastic.

We only hire outstanding leadership and staff.

Since 1946, and now in its second generation of family leadership, owners Howie and Sari Grossinger are recognized nationally & internationally as leaders in the field. Their commitment to providing camp families with outstanding staff is second to none. Through extensive training, mentoring, and a healthy dose of empowerment, every staff member has the tools and support they need to be an awesome leader. With many teachers in key supervisory roles, Camp Robin Hood is able to train and mentor staff and older campers to step into leadership. This has led to a culture of campers moving into staff roles and further reinforcing the fabulous spirit and values of Camp Robin Hood.

For years my kids have greatly enjoyed their time at Camp Robin Hood. Each day CRH is filled with exciting sports, activities, new friendships and lots of laughs and fun. From the daily bus ride to the fantastic stories they share with us, I can confidently say that they have been greatly enriched by their time at Camp Robin Hood!

The ‘Robin Hood Camp Dance’ has become a regular activity in our house. My son, 6 and daughter, 4 enjoy showing off their moves to all our friends and family and are already gearing up for [next summer’s] Camp Dance.
