GIVE YOUR CHILD THE BEST SUMMER EVER! Click Here

Beach Neighbourhood Stops

We are heading to the Beach! Come meet us!

With 2 new neighborhood stops in the Beach, we are ready to give your kids the ultimate day camp experience.

At Camp Robin Hood, the fun begins on the bus. Campers participate in a variety of activities and games, learn cheers and help to create decorations that correspond to the theme of the day. Our Bus Themes Calendar (published in June) helps families prepare for our twice-weekly dress-up days, while our Bus Counsellors (staff supervisors) work hard to surprise campers with special surprise themes on the other days.

Over 70 years of exceeding expectations

Why Camp Robin Hood? Simple, we just work harder to foster your child’s independence and emotional growth in a fun, outdoor, and high-spirited setting. It’s our specialty. We have been doing it for over 70 years and are so excited to be able to offer this opportunity in the Beach!

But picking your children’s day camp is a big and important decision. We get that. So we asked some of our parents and campers what they thought … take a look.

I love the camp bus. We have so much fun, we sing and play games with our bus counsellor and  I get to talk to my bus friends before we even get to camp.

When other parents ask me why Robin Hood? My answer is always, how could you not?

We Care for Every Child as if They Were Our Own

Camp Robin Hood is a family. And that is how we treat every camper: like one of our own. We care. A lot. From the attentiveness of our office staff, to the follow up of our Section Heads, our families know that any concern will be dealt with personally and professionally. Perhaps most comforting to our families is the access that they have to our camp owners/directors Sari & Howie. This leaves our parents feeling comfortable and secure.

We help kids learn through outdoor play

Our beautiful outdoor spaces allow campers of all ages a balance of supervised free-play and structured skill development. This unique country setting gives campers a sense of being away from their everyday routine and helps them to develop a keen sense of independence. Whether it is canoeing together on our pond, playing soccer with another cabin, planting vegetables in our garden or our twice-daily instructional swim, our campers are learning important life skills such as teamwork, perseverance and how to make and keep friends.

Waving goodbye from the Camp Robin Hood bus. Camp Robin Hood is Canada's oldest and largest day camp.

It is truly a place where children are loved, respected and can grow into the person they are to become. There is an incredible sense of community and family at Robin Hood.

We celebrate and accept each and every child

At Camp Robin Hood every child is celebrated. We love that no two campers are alike, that each child has their own special set of strengths and challenges. In turn, our staff have the tools, training, and commitment to give every camper the most memorable summer ever. Everyone is welcomed into a balanced cabin group to ensure no one is left out. And if your child has special needs, know that we are here to ensure their camp experience is truly magical. Consistent communication, incredible staff, the best on-site health professionals and perfectly-planned programs make us confident you’ll discover a camp that makes all aspects of your family’s experience fantastic.

Bus Routes & Timing

We are often asked about our bus pick-up and drop-off times. We take great pride in creating bus routes that best meet the needs of our camper families. It is for this reason that we wait until a few days before your camper’s first day to share the exact busing details. However, our routes are designed so that the majority of campers are picked up between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM (in the morning) and dropped off between 4:30 PM and 5:15 PM (in the afternoon). For families that find this timing difficult, we encourage you to call the office to discuss some options we have available to meet your needs.

Larry Bell, Founder of Camp Robin Hood, and Robin Perlmutter, our in-house team of bus coordinators, design the most efficient routes so that all campers on the bus spend approximately the same amount of time travelling to and from camp each day. We use the 407 Toll Road which makes travel to camp fast and mostly traffic-free. So much so, that kids are known to say, “we are here already?”!

And now we are excited to offer neighborhood pickup locations in the Beach.

We only hire outstanding leadership and staff.

Since 1946, and now in its second generation of family leadership, owners Howie and Sari Grossinger are recognized nationally & internationally as leaders in the field. Their commitment to providing camp families with outstanding staff is second to none. Through extensive training, mentoring, and a healthy dose of empowerment, every staff member has the tools and support they need to be an awesome leader. With many teachers in key supervisory roles, Camp Robin Hood is able to train and mentor staff and older campers to step into leadership. This has led to a culture of campers moving into staff roles and further reinforcing the fabulous spirit and values of Camp Robin Hood.
